Graphite machining is used to create the tubes using processes such as extrusion, compression molding, or isostatic pressing. Each technique produces unique grades of graphite, useful for different purposes. Extruded or pressed graphite is often used in manufacturing operations. Graphite rods and plates that are isostatically crushed have substantially finer graphite particles and smoother surfaces. It’s easy to specify custom different lengths, diameters, wall thicknesses, and flexibility for tubes. In contrast to metals, graphite gets stronger as the temperature rises and is less prone to degrade with time or normal wear and tear.

Isostatic graphite is an ultra-fine grain graphite used for applications where the mechanical properties of other fine grain graphites are inadequate. The term "isostatic graphite" stands for isostatically molded graphite. This means that the raw material mixture is compressed into rectangular or round blocks in a so called Cold-Isostatic-Press (CIP).

It is formed using select acid treated natural graphite, which is then compressed after undergoing high temperature expansion. Only natural graphite is used as a raw material, which yields highly flexible carbon with excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance. Other features include a high compressibility recovery rate, excellent airtightness, and a high thermal conductivity.

A graphite crucible is a container used for melting and casting non-ferrous, non-iron, metals such as gold, silver, aluminum, and brass.

The graphite ingot mold receives liquid metal of precious metals and other types of metals; and conserves them until they are solidified, they are later used as an investment or stored for jewelry use. Graphite dies and molds are designed for different casting techniques and metals. They invariably impress with their consistent material characteristics such as their thermal conductivity, chemical and thermal resistance and their high strength.

Graphite rings are die formed compressed graphite rings. They are flexible and highly impermeable to gases and liquids. Advantage of graphite rings is long life with no hardening deformations. Installation and removal of graphite rings can be done without danger of damage on the sealing faces. Therefore they can be excellent substitute for some types of metal O-rings.

Graphite stopper rods have many advantages, including superior thermal resistance to erosion-corrosion, oxidation and thermal cycling. They are easy to install and offer reliable performances and long life.

Graphite gaskets have excellent resistance to corrosive chemicals, high temperatures and high pressures. They also exhibit excellent thermal conductivity and an ability to securely seal. Graphite gaskets also offer good resistance to abrasion and resistance to humidity. Flexible graphite gaskets are used in many industries such as; refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, paper mills mines and other fields.

Graphite jigs are used in the production of semiconductor encapsulations by glass-to-metal sealing or brazing connections. The greatest precision is needed in machining these parts. The graphite grades used must exhibit low abrasion, high edge strength and particularly high resistance to oxidation and carbonizing.
